Massage Therapy Services

Abby Kos, Licensed Massage Therapist, offers the following massage services at Performance Therapies in Coralville.

Swedish/Relaxation Massage

Swedish massage is the modality of choice for full-body treatments, promoting relaxation and helping to reduce stress and tension held in the body’s tissues. This modality is a very soothing massage and helps remove tissue adhesions, improve bloodflow and increase range of motion. It can enhance your total overall sense of wellbeing and is ideal for those who are new to massage therapy.

30 minutes – $45; 60 minutes – $60; 90 minutes – $75

Deep-Tissue/Sports Massage

Repetitive tasks, whether recreational or occupational are a part of our daily lives. Deep tissue and sports massage helps target the areas of discomfort caused by repeated use or poor postural alignment. It involves the use of a variety of deep strokes and trigger point theory to access deeper muscle tissue fibers. Deep Tissue and Sports Massage can help shorten recovery time from muscular strain

30 minutes – $55; 60 minutes – $70

Cupping

Cupping can enhance circulation, pain management, pull out toxins, sedate the nervous system, and help control fatigue, anxiety and migraines. Rather than applying pressure to muscles, the suction uses pressure to pull skin, tissue and muscle upwards. You will find a little tight sensation in the area of the cup which is often relaxing and soothing. The cups may be placed in one spot or moved around your back. Cupping may cause the skin to temporarily turn red, blue or purple, especially if there is an injury under the cupped area. The skin discoloration can last anywhere from 3 days up to 14 days, but is rarely painful.

30 minutes – $50; Add-on 10 minutes of cupping to a massage- $25
